America Recycles Day

Since I really take an interest in recycling and the environment, I am naturally quite excited that today happens to be a day devoted to encouraging people to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

We are blessed to have an incinerator in our county that burns garbage (after it sorts it for recyclables) and uses the heat generated to warm up the local hospital and 3M plant. I don't have to feel too bad about what I throw away (I still recycle all I can) since our garbage isn't going straight to a landfill. Apparently they haul away the ashes and even use some of them in concrete during road construction!!
