GREENER-GRASS

A direct result of the grazing, musing and wandering of a sheep striving to follow the Good Shepherd.

Erase the slate and start over fresh...it's a brand new year

I don't usually pay much attention to making New Year's resolutions but after reading Brett Harris's on the Rebelution, I have been inspired to not only try to follow his, but to work harder at keeping the guidelines put forth in an entry to my notebook dated August 7, 2005.

In it I wrote down certain things I struggle with on a day-to-day basis. Then I put down a solution, knowing I can do better. It is a direct relationship: do less of something-do more of it's opposite. Of course I could not cover all the bases of life, so instead I have written down only the areas I identify as problem spots. (That's not to say I'm not missing some anyway!) They are not in any particular order since I wrote them down as they came to mind but typing them in I have tried to group like struggles together. Some are more urgent than others but all deserve special attention.

talk less-listen more
command less-serve more
boss less-encourage more
get mad less-show patience more
complain less-rejoice more
neglect less-do more
ignore less-respect more
hold back less-give more
stinge a little less-buy a little more (I am somewhat stingy)
shun less-experience more
think less-trust more
get distracted less-study more
envy less-be content more
worry less-pray more
grumble less-praise more

Some points are aimed at how I treat people, some at my actions, others at my interaction with Father Yahweh. All are important so they are my New Year's Resolutions. What are yours?
